“A foundation born on the battlefield. Our mission is to be a reliable support for those heroically defending Ukraine’s freedom — and for their families.
The combat unit’s continuation in the rear. We saw the war from the inside — and we know what is missing at the zero line.

Those who stand shoulder to shoulder with us
It all began on 24 February 2022
How it began
The full-scale invasion united a group of like-minded people around a single goal — to defend their home. That is how our first reconnaissance group was formed, which later grew into a dedicated special-purpose branch.
In its early days the group operated as the BLGR Squad special-purpose unit, whose history is documented in open sources and social-media archives (Facebook and Instagram). That is where the first photos, videos and chronicles of its combat path are preserved.
Over time the unit evolved into the 78th Special Purpose Regiment “Gerts” — a full-fledged combat unit within the Armed Forces of Ukraine that has fought on the hottest sections of the front line and gained real combat experience in the hardest conditions of the war.

Why we created the foundation
It was combat experience and a deep understanding of front-line reality that became the foundation of the “Gerts” Charitable Foundation.
We saw the war from the inside. We know what is missing at the zero line, and we understood: to fight effectively, efforts must be united both at the front and in the rear.
Today the foundation is the logical continuation of the combat unit.
Every action we take is neither a formality nor a symbol. It is a continuation of responsibility and the keeping of the oath we gave each other at the beginning of this path.
